Watertowers

Public ‍ ‍Paper‍ ‍Mixed Media

These watertower large format photocopies depict a playful seepage from a landmark watertower slated for removal. Displayed during the Somerville Arts Council’s Windows Art Project the water tower from the industrial era Assembly Square where Edsels were made. It is also incorporating the modernist repetition used by Bern and Hilda Becher’s photographs of watertowers.

Watersheds are nature’s geographical boundaries.

A series of maps highlighting waterways and watersheds, interpreting a scale so large into something a viewer can relate to.  Small enough to see in its entirety and large enough to create a dwarfing of the individual.  This series incorporated my experience as a wilderness guide, National Park Service Ranger and GIS programmer.
